On Thursday, September 4, 2025, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department were conducting routine traffic patrol when a vehicle was observed traveling above the posted speed limit on Interstate 68 Westbound. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle. During the stop, the Officer was alerted that the vehicle was stolen out of West Virginia. The three occupants, Alphonso Boone, Shakim Jones, and Taquan Murray, were placed under arrest. They were transported the the Allegany County Detention Center and taken before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance. Boone, Jones, and Taquan were all released on their own recognizance pending their trials.
