Third Quarter Cannabis Tax Revenue Tops $26 Million

From July through September of 2025, the State of Maryland collected more than $26.8 million dollars in tax revenue from cannabis sales. The Western Region, which includes Allegany County was the third highest contributor with $4.3 million in tax revenue. In July of 2025, the sales and use tax for cannabis increased from 9% to 12% in accordance with the Budget Reconciliation And Financing Act of 2025. For January through September of 2025, the state has collected $64.8 million in tax revenue.
