On Saturday, January 3, 2026 at approximately 10:02 PM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Maryland Avenue and identified the operator as Robert Whitacre III.  A search of the vehicle was conducted and Whitacre was found to be in possession of suspected methamphetamine.  He was issued a criminal citation and released pending trial.
