UPMC Western Maryland has once again received an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from the Leapfrog Group that aims to improve healthcare quality and safety for consumers. The “A” grade is the highest possible rating. It reflects the efforts of UPMC Western Maryland in areas including infection, hand hygiene, surgical outcomes, and fall prevention. Grades are based on more than 30 performance measures and are updated twice a year.
