UPMC Western Maryland has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as a 2026 Maternity Care Access Hospital.  The designation is given to hospitals offering essential maternity services to underserved communities. UPMC Western Maryland is one of just 147 hospitals chosen as a Maternity Care Access Hospital based on detailed data submitted via the annual Maternity Services Survey that looks at C-section rates, breastfeeding, and birthing-friendly practices.
