The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives return to official duties on January 5th and at the top of mind for Democrats is a vote on extending healthcare tax credits. The credits which many citizens rely on to keep their healthcare coverage somewhat affordable expired at the end of 2025. Maryland Senator Chris Van Hollen said the House of Representatives is forcing a vote on extending the credits and he hopes the Senate will pass an extension…
“The House will vote on that. It will come over to the Senate and I’ve already asked Senator Thune, who’s the Republican leader, whether he will commit for bringing that up to a vote in the United States Senate. We’ve heard nothing from him.”
