On Thursday, January 1st, 2026 an officer with the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Lamont Street for a traffic violation. The officer made contact with the operator, and occupants of the vehicle. During the investigation, the officer identified one of the occupants as Karlie Austin. Officers determined that Austin had previously been served with a court order prohibiting her from contacting another individual who was also inside the vehicle. As a result, Austin was placed under arrest for violation of a court order. She was transported to the Allegany Detention Center and later released on her own recognizance after appearing before a District Court Commissioner.
