The Trump Administration is proposing the construction of an ICE detention facility for illegal immigrants in Hagerstown and Congresswoman April McClain Delaney says she is outraged. Warehouses, similar to ones used by Amazon, would be retrofitted to house detainees while they await deportation. The City of Hagerstown issued a statement they had not been contacted about the proposal. Congresswoman Delaney said she opposes any attempt to detain people without full constitutional protections and demands full transparency including planning documents, contracts and communications related to any facility from both DHS and ICE.
