West Virginia Broadband Funds Approved

November 24th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Senator Shelly Moore Capito announced that West Virginia’s application for Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment – or BEAD funding, has been approved by the federal government.  The funding is nearly $546 million for 142 deployment projects, connecting 73,044 unserved and underserved locations throughout the state. Governor Patrick Morrisey said the numbers look good for job growth through the projects…

“From the Marshall Center for Business and Research, that could be up to 1,500 immediate jobs for the construction project and a lot of the initial installation. Long-term, they’re projecting that this could result in another 7,000 jobs from many other industries.”
