West Virginia Governor Patrick Morrisey announced Thursday morning that searchers had recovered the body of a miner missing in the Rolling Thunder Mine since Saturday. The body of foreman Steven Lipscomb was found early Thursday morning after thousands of gallons of water had been pumped out of the mine in Nicholas County. A collapse of wall in the mine on Saturday had allowed water to rush into the complex. Lipscomb had gotten his team evacuated before becoming trapped. Rescuers had worked around the clock to get the water down to a level where searchers could safely enter the complex.
