West Virginia’s creditworthiness was recently upgraded to “positive” from “stable” by Standard and Poor’s, affirming the state’s AA rating. Delegate Gary Howell says a large part of the state’s budget is a “Rainy Day Fund,” and one of the best in the nation, which keeps the state from needing to raise taxes…
“We have no real reason to raise taxes in the foreseeable future, and that’s what people like, that’s what business likes, and that’s what makes West Virginia very attractive. Something, you know, Justice worked on during his administration, the legislature worked on, and now Morrisey is beginning to reap the benefits of the past.”
