As Railfest approaches its first comeback in decades, Wes Heinz, Executive Director of the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad, says the steam locomotive will run all day Saturday during the Heritage Days weekend in September…
“The station will be open before 7:30 in the morning, and the first steam engine powered trip will leave at 8 am. 1309 is going to run five trips that day between downtown and Helmstetter’s.”
Heinz also says they plan to switch up Saturday night’s dinner train for the occasion…
“What we’ve done this time is the dinner train will be geared towards—we’re gonna do barbeque. The steam engine will also pull that trip, and then on Sunday we’ll repeat that with more steam engine trips.”
