The Allegany High School class of 1967 has asked the county to have a historic landmark placed at the old high school site.  As a member of the 1967 class, Al Feldstein presented the idea to the Cumberland Mayor and City Council at their recent public meeting, saying the marker would give the history of the site…

   

“We could establish a historical marker, giving the history of the school and the site.  When it’s all done and a site is designated for a historical marker, we would like to install it and pay for it, and approve it, and it would be consistent with the other types of historical markers around the city.”
