One of the subjects that came up a t a recent National Press Club appearance by Maryland Governor Wes Moore was the hot topic of gerrymandering. Several states are undertaking the redrawing of district lines in time for mid-cycle elections. Moore told attendees that he finds the whole thing hugely problematic…

   

“That’s not the way this works. And mid-cycle, particularly without any new data, new census data, and just gerrymandering I think is a problem. And frankly, I think it’s something that Congress needs to act on. I think Congress and I would call on Congress to pass a law banning gerrymandering and banning mid-cycle changes.”
