2021-22 ACPS Indoor Athletic Event Protocols

The Allegany County Public School System has released the most up to date COVID-19 protocols are will be in place for indoor athletic events

Masking:

  • Spectators will not be granted admission without a mask.
  • Once admitted, spectators or any event personnel without a mask, or with a mask not properly covering their nose and mouth, will be given 1 warning, and then will be asked to leave the event. Spectators who are asked to leave will be sent a no trespass letter, and will be prohibited from coming on school property. Student-athletes not actively participating are expected to follow these MSDE rules as well!
  • Varsity teams waiting for the JV game to end, and JV teams waiting for the varsity game to end, should sit masked across from their team bench, and be properly supervised by coaches.
  • Masks are required by EVERYONE during indoor events per current MSDE regulations. The exception being that athletes may take their masks off during competition.

Food & Drink:

  • Food and any drinks are NOT allowed in the gymnasium. 
  • Any school that is offering concessions: All food/drink must be consumed in the cafeteria. 

Spectator Capacities:

  •  All ACPS schools will follow a 50% capacity limitation in each gymnasium.

NFHS Network Video Coverage:

  • All ACPS home gymnasium and stadium events will be broadcast on the NFHS Network, for those who cannot attend.
