On Sunday, May 18th, 2025, an officer with the Cumberland Police Department observed a Dodge passenger car fail to stop as required at a posted stop sign. A traffic stop was initiated in the area of George St, and contact was made with the vehicle's occupants. During the course f the stop, a police K9 was utilized to conduct a free air sniff of the vehicle's exterior, which indicated positive to the presence of CDS. During a subsequent search, multiple CDS-related items were located, including suspected suboxone and paraphernalia. As a result, three of the occupants of the vehicle were issued Criminal Citations and released, pending trial in District Court.
