Congresswoman Opposes SNAP Cuts

May 19th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Maryland Congresswoman April McClain Delaney has spoke out against changes to the SNAP food program that would shift costs to the states. Delaney said the cost-shift would cause low-income Americans to lose crucial benefits from a program traditionally funded by the federal government…

“The bill imposes an unfunded mandate on states and cuts food assistance for our most vulnerable Americans. Shifts SNAP cuts onto states would directly reduce benefits for 16 million children, eight million seniors, and four million people with disabilities who rely on SNAP each day.”
