The Allegany County Commissioners accepted a grant from the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention for use by the Sheriff’s department for a Comprehensive Opioid Use Site-Based Program. The grant of over $470,000 will focus on treatment, rehabilitation, recovery and education. County Administrator Jason Bennett tells WCBC more money will be coming in the form of settlements from drug companies and a workgroup is being established for the use of those funds.
