A Construction update from Melinda Kelleher, Executive Director Downtown Development Commission this week, Triton Construction completed installation of mainline utilities (water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer) from the Centre Street intersection to the George Street intersection. Their sub-contractor, Rommel Construction, continued installing electric lines and fiber optic conduit throughout the project site. After the holiday weekend, there will be two planned street closures. Liberty Street will be closed on Tuesday, September 5 and Centre Street will be closed on Thursday, September 7. For each closure, the streets should be reopened by 4PM. These closures are necessary for Rommel Construction to bring their fiber and electric lines through these intersections. Additionally, Triton will be testing the newly installed section of waterline between Centre and George prior to putting it into service and tying buildings in this area onto the new line.
