A private university in West Virginia is facing trouble from all sides as it deals with dwindling enrollment and financial woes. Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi is facing a termination notice for water, sewer, and electric services for overdue payments in excess of $770,000. Opened in 1932, the college currently has a student body of less than 700 students. The West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission could put the college on probation status – it is currently has provisional authorization for the coming academic year.
