The Allegany County Historical Society is recreating a 1920s special event at the F Brook Whiting house for their spring 2022 fundraiser. Gatsby Gala will be on May 7th as it might have happened when Brooke Whiting, Sr. and his wife Ruth lived at their home at 632 Washington Street. According to a 1914 newspaper clipping it turns out the family actually hosted tango parties on upper Washington Street. Debbie Grimm is the Event Chair for the Allegany Historical Society…
