Allegany County School Board President Ferrell letters meant only for students receiving private care from that provider.

Allegany County Board of Education February letter to parents to no longer excuse students receiving outside mental health therapy was only meant for 26 to 30 students. However, a mistake at several School offices resulted in letters being sent the parents of students that were not affected by the provider. Allegany County School Board President, Robert Ferrell, tells WCBC News that the letter sent out was meant only for students receiving private care from that provider…

Mr. Ferrell explain the situation with the transportation provider and the concerns the school system have for  student safety. It is not acceptable having students climb through windows to enter or exit a vehicle because the doors would not function…

John Schnably owner of Potomac Behavioral and Occupation therapy said the transportation concerns have since been addressed and he sees no reason why students would not be allowed to continue therapy sessions with Potomac.
