Another violent incident at Frostburg Bar

May 25th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

The Cumberland Times News reports a Cumberland man suffered a head wound in a fight early Friday at Wild Things Bar — the second consecutive night that Frostburg police responded to the East Main Street location to investigate reports of altercations. The 21-year-old victim was reportedly found outside at the rear of the business where he was being treated by Frostburg State University Police. The victim in the 1:20 a.m. complaint told authorities “he was hit with a chair and did not want to charge anyone,” according to a police report.

The LaVale Rescue Squad treated the victim after being dispatched by the Allegany County 911 emergency center.

Chief Royce Douty said a report on the incident, as well as a report detailing an incident at the bar the previous night will be sent to the Allegany County Liquor Control Board.

It was 12:03 a.m. Thursday when Frostburg Police responded to fights inside the Wild Things Bar. The business was shut down before an estimated 100 patrons exited the business onto Main Street at the intersection with Center and Depot streets.

Three people were arrested and up to 20 uniformed officers of Maryland State Police, the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office, Cumberland Police and Frostburg State University Police responded to assist Frostburg officers.

It took 90 minutes for law enforcement to control the situation and disperse the crowd, according to Frostburg Police.
