The Appalachian Regional Commission annual conference takes place this fall at Frostburg State University. The theme for the conference this year is Appalachian Places: Growing Local Economies and will be held on October 6 and 7. The theme highlights connections between Appalachia’s culture and geography and how they drive economic opportunity. The conference will open with a slate of guest speakers including A-R-C Federal Co-Chair Gayle Manchin, Interim President for Frostburg State Darlene Brannigan, and keynote speaker Maryland Governor Wes Moore who also serves as the A-R-C co-chair for 2025.
