The Union Rescue Mission started with a motto of “Soup, Sip, Salvation.” But the new location on Franklin Street will have a more comprehensive plan. Pastor David Ziler tells WCBC the shelter will offer a four-phase program, starting with shelter but will also provide more help and require more from those in what is called the Life Recovery Program…
“That’s where we start w2orking on driver’s ed, their driver’s license, getting their social security card, their birth certificates, any educational issues they may have. If they need a GED or if they want to go to college or anything like that, they can start working on that stuff there. Meanwhile, they’re working at one of the internship programs.”
