Arch Street fight and CDS Arrest

On Monday, March 27, 2023 at approximately 7:45 AM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the first block of Arch Street for a fight in progress.  Officers arrived on scene and spoke with the parties involved.  It was reported that two assault victims had sustained injuries.  The victims reported that the suspects were Jeremy Combs and Jaclyn Riley.  One victim was allegedly struck with a flashlight multiple times by Riley.  The other victim was allegedly cut with a knife used by Combs as she attempted to intervene between Combs and the other victim.  After further investigation, Combs and Riley were placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking.  A search of Combs revealed that he was in possession of suspected crack cocaine.  A search of Riley revealed that she was in possession of suspected fentanyl.   Combs and Riley were both later seen by a District Court Commissioner and were remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on $5,000 bonds.

CHARGES: Assault-1st Degree (x2), Assault-2nd Degree (x2), Reckless Endangerment (x2), Disorderly Conduct, Affray, CDS Possess-Not Cannabis, Possess Contraband-Place of Confinement

 

ARRESTED:  Jaclyn Valerie Riley      AGE:  31         Cumberland, MD

CHARGES:  Assault-1st Degree, Assault-2nd Degree, Reckless Endangerment, Disorderly Conduct, Affray, CDS Possess-Not Cannabis, Possess Contraband-Place of Confinement

 

 

TRESPASSING/RESISTING ARREST

 

On Monday, March 27, 2023 at approximately 11:49 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 400 block of Grand Avenue for a trespassing complaint.  Officers arrived on scene and contacted the resident who reported that Carl Stallings Sr. was refusing to leave her residence after she told him to do so.  Police contacted Stallings and advised him to leave multiple times.  Stallings refused to listen to officers’ requests.  When police went to place Stallings under arrest, he resisted by pulling away from the officers.  Stallings was able to be taken into custody and was transported to Central Booking where he is currently awaiting his initial hearing before the court.
