On Saturday, March 25th, 2023, The Cumberland City Police responded to a business in the 30 block of N. Centre St for the report of a disturbance. Upon arrival on scene, officers contacted a male subject who was harassing and disturbing the peace of patrons in and around the business. The subject was ordered to leave the area and cause no further issues in the area. At this time, the subject complied and left the area.
A short time later, officers were again called to respond to the area for the report of the same male continuing to cause a disturbance. Once on scene, the subject was located on scene, being disorderly and causing a public disturbance. As a result, Matthew Shafer Zink, 39, of Cumberland MD, was placed under arrest. Zink was issued Criminal Citations for Disorderly Conduct, Fail to Obey, and Disturbing the Peace. He was then released, pending trial in District Court.
