On November 5th, 2022, The Cumberland City Police responded to a business in the 400 block of Virginia Ave for the report of an intoxicated subject in a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers located the intoxicated individual. The subject was found to be highly intoxicated and argumentative with officers. Throughout the investigation, the subject was acting in a disorderly manner and failing to obey the officers on scene. It had also been determined the individual had driven to the business while in an intoxicated state and also had a suspended driver license. As a result, officers elected to place the subject, Rachel Natalie Brotemarkle, 47, of Cumberland, under arrest. While attempting to take her into custody, she kicked one of the officers. She was then transported to Police Headquarters for processing. Brotemarkle was taken before the District Court Commissioner for her Initial Appearance where she remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center. She was held on $5,000 bond.

Charges: Assault 2nd Degree, Disorderly Conduct, Driving while Intoxicated, Driving while Impaired, Driving Suspended, Driving w/o a License.
On November 5th, 2022, the Cumberland City Police responded to a Oldtown Rd residence for the report of an assault. Upon arrival, officer contacted the victim of the alleged assault. They advised that they had been in a verbal altercation inside the home that turned physical. It was alleged that the suspect struck the victim multiple times in the face and back before walking out of the home. The suspect was then locked out of the residence by the victim. The suspect then began to create a large disturbance outside the residence, yelling and beating on windows and doors. As a result, John Robert Lemmon, 36, of Cumberland MD, was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for his Initial Appearance where he was released on his own recognizance.

On November 5th, 2022, the Cumberland City Police responded to the 100 block of Polk St for the report of a loud disturbance. Upon arrival on scene, officers located a lone female subject walking in the area. The female was yelling and creating a loud and noticeable disturbance. As officers contacted the subject, she began to scream at officers, demanding a ride home. The subject refused to relay to officers what the cause of the disturbance was in reference to. The subject also refused to lower her voice and continued her loud and disruptive behavior. Afetr repeated requests, and her failure to comply, Lauren Colleen Colmer, 34, of Frostburg MD, was placed under arrest and transported to Police Headquarters. The subject was issued Criminal Citations for Disorderly Conduct and Disturbing the Peace before being released, pending trial in District Court.
