On Friday, August 18, 2023 at approximately 6:25 PM, officers of the Cumberland Police Department responded to the first block of Virginia Avenue for an assault. Officers arrived and contacted the alleged victim who reported that she was assaulted by Trent Burnett. The victim had sustained injuries consistent with her statements. During the investigation, Burnett was uncooperative and refused to listen officers orders. Burnett was placed under arrest and transported to Central Booking. He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.
