Accused Mountain Ridge Teacher Gary Athey appeared in Allegany County Circuit Court Tuesday afternoon for a bond hearing.
Judge Jeffrey Getty agreed with a prosecution recommendation that bond be $10,000, with conditions that Athey not contact the alleged victim, and stay away from areas that the alleged victim would expected to be found.
During the hearing, there was information presented by the state that Athey had been in contact with the alleged victim during the investigation, but the defense countered that the contact was initiated by the victim.
Judge Getty ordered Athey into a pretrial supervision program and ordered absolutely no contact.
A trial date of February 28, 2018, has been set.
