Baker Street disturbance leads to Animal Abuse Arrest

On November 3, 2023, Officers of the Cumberland Police Department were dispatched to a Baker Street residence for a domestic disturbance. Officers were advised that the disturbance began after their dogs urinated and defecated on the floor. Through the investigation Officers learned that Wimberley got mad and stabbed one dog in the back leg with a knife. Officers entered the residence and observed blood on the floor and throughout the apartment. Officers observed one dog with injuries consistent with being stabbed. Wimberley was transported to the Allegany County Detention Center. The Allegany County Animal Control was contacted and placed all three dogs in their custody.

Arrest: Malik Wimberley, age 24, Cumberland Maryland.
Charges: animal mutilate.
