Busy Holiday Friday for City Police

On Friday, , the Cumberland Police Department served four bench warrants on Martre Battle.  The warrants were issued as the result of Battle failing to appear in court on March 16, 2023.  He was originally charged with Obstructing & Hindering, False Statement to Officer Cause, False Statement to Officer, and multiple traffic charges. Battle was arrested and transported to Central Booking.  He was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on his personal recognizance.

 

ARRESTED:  Martre Dawoyne Battle     AGE:  28       Cumberland, MD

 

Later Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Daniel Monrose Jr.  The summons was issued as the result of an incident that occurred on March 15, 2023.  On this date at approximately 3:10 PM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department responded to a residence in the 700 block of Lafayette Avenue after receiving information that a wanted subject was there.  Police arrived and observed Daniel Monrose in the backyard of the residence.  The officer confirmed that he had an active warrant for his arrest.  The officer then informed Monrose of the warrant and he fled the area on foot.  The officer was able to catch up to him and take him into custody.  Monrose was served with the arrest warrant.  Police filed for additional charges against Monrose at the District Court of Allegany County.  Monrose signed for his copy of the summons.

 

ARRESTED:  Daniel Monrose Jr.     AGE:  37            Cumberland, MD

CHARGES:  Fail to Obey a Reasonable & Lawful Order, Resist Arrest, Obstructing & Hindering

 

 

And  Cumberland Police Department served two bench warrants on Michelle Porter.  One warrant was issued as the result of Porter failing to appear in court on March 15, 2023.  She was originally charged with Abuse/Neglect, Neglect of Minor (x2), Reckless Endangerment, Contribute to Conditions of Child (x2).  The other warrant was issued as the result of Porter failing to comply with an order of the court.  In this case, she was originally charged with violating a Protective Order.  Porter was arrested and transported to Central Booking.  She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner for her initial appearance.  Porter was held on a $5,000 bond for the first warrant and held without bond for the second warrant.
