A recent request by a tenant at Canal Place for a lower lease rate has been rejected by the Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority. There are lease rates established for businesses in the railway station center and a slightly lower rate for businesses operating at the Shops at Canal- as they pay utilities. The business making the request was not identified. Executive director Dee Dee Ritchie advised against beginning any process that would see individual lease rates negotiated and recommended that the current tiered structure remain in place…
