Maryland U.S. Senator Ben Cardin on Thursday joined fellow senators in blasting the GOP tax plan- calling it disasterous for middle-class Americans. Cardin said Republicans are negotiating the final details of a bill that would hurt millions of Americans and wreak havoc on health care markets across the country. By repealing the individual mandate, the GOP plan would leave 13 million people without health insurance and increase premiums. Cardin added that bill's impact on the deficit could also result in Medicare and Medicaid cuts down the road that would be devastating for vulnerable patients, like children with complex medical needs, the elderly, and the poor.
