FCC Chair Brendan Carr voiced his support for efforts underway in Congress to require carmakers to keep AM radio in vehicles. During testimony on Capitol Hill before an appropriations committee, Carr said that manufacturers do have a way to keep AM in cars and trucks without interference to onboard hardware…
“AM is a vital communications technology. There had been concerns about EV makers dropping it based on concerns whether the EV motors would interfere with it. But our understanding is there is relatively inexpensive shielding you can do which would solve that.”
