Memorial Day Parade and Celebration will take place on today, May 26th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. To ensure the safety of attendees and minimize traffic disruptions, several temporary changes to the downtown traffic pattern and parking will be implemented. These measures will help maintain smooth traffic flow while accommodating the event.
Traffic adjustments will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. During this time, the following changes will apply:
Southbound traffic on Mechanic Street will be detoured. Drivers will be allowed to turn onto Market Street, heading toward Cumberland Street.
Northbound traffic on Mechanic Street will only be permitted to turn left onto Baltimore Street, heading toward Washington Street.
Traffic on Baltimore Street, from either Greene Street or Washington Street, will be restricted to right-hand turns onto Mechanic Street only.
Traffic on Queen City Drive will not be allowed to turn onto Baltimore Street between Queen City Drive and George Street; this section of Baltimore Street will be closed.
· Liberty Street from Frederick Street to Union Street will be closed.
· Centre Street from Union Street to Frederick Street will be closed.
· George Street from Union Street to Baltimore Street will be closed.
· Bedford Street from Centre Street to Mechanic Street will be closed.
· Frederick Street from Mechanic Street to Queen City Drive will be closed.
Parking restrictions will be in effect from 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m During this time, the following parking restrictions will apply:
· No Parking on Baltimore Street from Mechanic Street to Queen City Drive
· No Parking on Liberty Street from Frederick Street to Pershing Street
· No Parking on Centre Street from Pershing Street to Frederick Street
· No Parking on Frederick Street from Mechanic Street to Queen City Drive
· No Parking on Mechanic Street from Frederick Street to Baltimore Street
· No Parking on Bedford Street between Mechanic Street and Centre Street
Once the parade concludes, roads will be reopened, and parking restrictions will be lifted. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in helping ensure a successful event for the entire community.
