Father Gregory Chervenak, the pastor of Our Lady of the Mountains Parish in Cumberland since its formation, announced that he is leaving later this summer.  Father Greg made the announcement at the end of weekend Masses.  The parish was formed in 2011 and consolidated five Catholic parishes in Allegany County.  During his tenure, difficult decisions were made regarding the closing of St. Ambrose in Cresaptown and St. Patrick's in Mount Savage.  While weekday Masses continue at Saints Peter and Paul, weekend Masses are now held only at St. Mary's and St. Patrick's, both in Cumberland.  A new pastor will be named in the coming weeks.
