The recurring theme at Thursday’s Allegany County Commissioner’s meeting was what, if anything, the county could do to hinder the abortion clinic scheduled to open in June near Rawlings. Following public comments from eleven citizens opposed to the clinic, County Attorney Lee Beeman took time to address attendees about avenues the commissioners have been exploring.
Commissioner Creade Brodie also commented on the situation, commiserating with the constituents who spoke out at the meeting and explaining further how the county’s hands are tied.
