The Allegany County Sheriff’s Office is organizing its first Citizen’s Police Academy, intended to familiarize citizens with the department’s operations and provide an opportunity to observe deputies in their daily duties. Citizens will take away a better understanding of police work and is intended to open better communication between the community and the police. The Academy is scheduled to run from May 2nd through June 20th with limited space. To register, contact the Allegany County Sheriff’s Department.
