In a rare non-unanimous vote, the Cumberland Mayor and City Council voted Tuesday night 3-2 to raise parking rates effective mid-November. Council members Rock Cioni and Lauri Marchini voted against the ordinance, primarily because it would go into effect just as the holiday shopping season is starting and cause the wrong perception with shoppers…
Marchini also said that she realizes parking is cumbersome right now, but the retailers in the downtown are worthy of the extra effort…
