BENCH WARRANTS SERVED

 

On Friday, February 2, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served three Circuit Court bench warrants on Logan McDaniel.  Two of the warrants were issued as the result of McDaniel failing to appear in court.  The other warrant was issued due to McDaniel violating pre-trial release. McDaniel has original charges of Possess Child Pornography and CDS: Possess-Not Marijuana.  McDaniel was arrested and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center where he is currently being held without bond pending his appearance before the court.

ARREST WARRANT SERVED

 

On Friday, February 2, 2024, the Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Michael Butler.  The summons was issued in connection with a burglary investigation that was initiated on December 3, 2023.  On this date at approximately 10:26 AM, officers responded to the first block of W. First Street for the report of a group of subjects inside an abandoned residence.  Police arrived and contacted the subjects.  One of the subjects identified was Michael Butler.  After further investigation, it was learned that Butler did not have permission to be inside the residence.  Police filed for charges against Butler at the District Court of Allegany County.  Butler signed for his copy of the summons and he was released pending trial.

CDS ARREST & ARREST WARRANT SERVED

 

On Friday, February 2, 2024 at approximately 10:00 AM, an officer of the Cumberland Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Lee Street.  The operator was identified as Stacey Bartholow.  A Police K-9 performed a free air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle and indicated a positive alert for drugs.  A search of the vehicle was conducted.  Police located suspected fentanyl and suspected drug paraphernalia.  Bartholow was issued criminal citations for the violations.  Police also learned that Bartholow had an active arrest warrant through the Maryland State Police for Theft less than $100.  Bartholow was arrested and transported to the Allegany County Detention Center.  She was later seen by a District Court Commissioner and released on her personal recognizance.
