Comptroller presents William Donald Schaefer Award at Allegany College

Maryland Comptroller Franchot presented the 2017 William Donald Schaefer Helping People Award for Allegany County on Friday to Cherie Snyder for her efforts to combat the growing opioid epidemic in Western Maryland and her work promoting community-wide health and wellness. Snyder is a professor at Allegany College of Maryland and also directs the College’s Integrative Health Program.  Franchot said that Cherie has spearheaded the collaborative relationships between Allegany College of Maryland with the Center for Mind-Body Medicine and the Community Wellness Coalition, and  is a visionary leader making tremendous inroads in the fight against opioids.
