Coney Mayor Concerned For Winter

October 3rd, 2025 by WCBC Radio

With still no response from FEMA regarding relief funds for the Western Maryland May 13th flood, Mayor Jack Coburn of Lonaconing told WCBC he is unsure how citizens are going to receive help.  As winter months approach, Coburn said heating systems are a necessity…

“Right now, I’m concerned because of winter months approaching, and so many people don’t have their furnaces in place, and their houses have not been restored back to a safe living for winter months.  They’re going to end up with frozen pipes no heat.  There’s a lot out there right now that needs corrected before the winter months approach.”
