Congresswoman April McClain Delaney announced Thursday afternoon that she has sent a request that her salary be withheld for the duration of the government shutdown. In a letter to the Chief Administrative Officer of the U.S. House of Representatives, McClain Delaney said she plans on donating her pay to nonprofits within the 6th district that are addressing food insecurity for families impacted by cuts to SNAP and other federal programs. House of Representatives members make $174,000 per year.
