Without much fanfare at the public meeting, the Cumberland Mayor and City Council approved moving $50,000 from the city’s micro-revolving loan fund to Allegany County for the Baltimore Street Construction Impact Grant program. During the work session before the vote, there was discussion among council members about how the money will be distributed and that over a million dollars in grant funding had already been earmarked to help downtown businesses, though not on a direct cash-in-hand basis.
