County Liquor Board in Full Support of Sheriff’s Methods

The Allegany County Liquor Board is on record as fully supporting Sheriff Craig Robertson and his department for the manner in which the officers handle under age drinking compliance checks of bars, restaurants and liquor stores. County Commissioner Jake Shade caused consternation in some circles when he suggested that a type of sting operation was being conducted by the sheriff’s department, and seeing those businesses hit with large fines. That scenario was not true, according to the sheriff. Robertson said his office made 279 compliance checks in the spring and only seven times were establishments found to be in violation of the law.
