COVID Numbers Continue Rapid Decline in Maryland

Maryland has reached a new record low regarding its COVID-19 numbers. On Tuesday, the state health department recorded a 1.98% seven-day COVID-19 positivity rate, the lowest positivity rate since the global pandemic began. Maryland is also reporting 160 new confirmed COVID-19 cases, the first time fewer than 200 new cases have been reported since March 30, 2020, and the lowest number since March 26, 2020. According to official CDC data, 68.3% of Maryland adults have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, outpacing the national rate (61.5%), and putting the state well on track to surpass President Biden’s goal of 70% of adults vaccinated by Independence Day. The data shows  3,146,333  Marylanders have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, 2,561,871 of them have gotten the second dose, and 228,089 have received the single-dose vaccine.
