Dan Cox, who ran for Governor in Maryland in 2022 says he did NOT file to run for the 6th District Congress seat on Monday and wants to find out who did so in his name.

After news outlets across the state announced that the filing had taken place, Cox said he was thinking about a run but absolutely had not filed the paperwork and would be contacting the Federal Elections Commission to find out how it happened.

The filing information used the same post office box number in Frederick that Cox used for his gubernatorial bid. The 6th District seat being vacated by Ben Cardin has at least 11 announced candidates.
