WV Seniors Can Receive Employment Help

By 2030, more than 73 million people age 65 and older – will be of retirement age, as the last of the Baby Boomer generation enters older adulthood. In West Virginia, the Senior Community Service Employment Program aims to help seniors who need to work to make ends meet find employment. Becky Raspperry, program manager, National Council on Aging West Virginia Resource Center explains more…

She adds that most employment program participants receive six months of training before landing a permanent job. The latest United Health Foundation's America's Health Rankings Senior Report finds nationwide, the number of older adults who don't have enough money for housing, food, medical care and other basic needs is on the rise.
