On May 1, 2018 at approximately 3:10 PM the Cumberland Police responded to a residence in the 200 block of W. Second Street for a burglary complaint.  When police arrived they spoke with the victim who advised someone burglarized his home between 7:00 AM and 3:00 PM. There were signs of forced entry to the door leading into his home.  Police are asking anyone with information in this incident to please contact the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600.

Hit & Run Investigation

The Cumberland Police are investigating a hit and run incident that occurred in the 200 block of Maryland Avenue on May 1, 2018 at approximately 7:04 PM.  Police learned a male was operating a dirt bike and was traveling down Estelle Street. The bike failed to stop when it reached the intersection of Estelle Street and Maryland Avenue, crashing into a residence on Maryland Avenue.  The bike then slid into a second residence and struck a person who was sitting on the porch. The person who was struck received only a minor injury and did not require any medical treatment. The dirt bike fled the area prior to police arrival.  Police are asking anyone with information in this incident to please contact the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600.
